Sir Stephen Hough at the Leys
On Tuesday 20 September, a full house enjoyed a superb concert performed by Sir Stephen Hough in our Great Hall. The programme included works by Scriabin, Debussy and Liszt, as well as one of his own compositions, Sonatina Nostalgica. This was a wonderful opportunity for our pupils, staff and the wider audience of Cambridge and beyond to see a truly world-class performance.
Sir Stephen commented: “It’s always a special pleasure to play a concert in a school, where young people might be hearing certain works, or even a piano recital itself, for the first time. This music unites us across generations and centuries with its exploration of human longing and its expression of our common joys and sorrows.”
