Entrance Assessments
Candidates who wish to be considered for entry to The Leys must complete an assessment.
More InformationA Sixth Form Choices Evening for prospective Sixth Formers and their parents takes place each year in September. Department teachers will talk about their subjects, and the Director of Studies, Careers staff and the Sixth Form Coordinator will be available to discuss subject combinations and other relevant matters.
Pupils will normally be admitted to the Sixth Form if they have achieved at least an average of 5.5 at GCSE and at least a grade 5 in Maths and English. A grade 6 pass at GCSE is almost invariably the minimum requirement for starting an A level subject and grade 7 is preferred.
Before an offer can be made, it will be necessary to ask parents’ permission to approach the Head Teacher/Principal of the applicant’s school for a report and predicted GCSE grades (or the equivalent). The same entry requirements apply to British pupils attending an international school following the UK curriculum.
The first round of offers is made during the first week of December of the year before entry.
